Customize Your First Aid Kit

Come join us for a workshop where you'll learn how to customize your own first aid kit!

Date: Monday, January 12th, 2026

Time: 6:30pm - 7:30pm

Location: Estes Valley Library Hondius Room

Before heading into the field, it’s important to be ready for the unexpected. In this presentation, we’ll explore how to tailor your first aid kit and skills to your group, destination, and trip length. You’ll learn what to include in a kit, the pros and cons of buying versus building your own, and opportunities to further your medical training. Whether you want to build your own first aid kit from scratch or modify a kit you already have, don't miss this opportunity to take control of your safety and be prepared for whatever comes your way!

About Your Instructor: Katie Colson is the Education Coordinator for the Rocky Mountain Conservancy. She is a Wilderness EMT and a member of the Rocky Mountain National Park Search and Rescue team. Katie has guided ice climbing, rock climbing, mountaineering, and backcountry skiing.
