Event description

Description

Are you an entrepreneur looking to build a hardware or consumer good product and you don't know if you're building the right solution? Are you seeking advice on how to go from an idea to a prototype?

Before you draw up grand plans to take your product to market, join NYDesigns for a workshop to learn how to take user-centered design, lean methodologies, and customer discovery to determine the best pathway for your startup.

How do you know the hardware product serves a real need and has a real market opportunity to solve those customer problems/challenges? 90% of startups fail because of no market need.

Customer discovery is a technique to connect to your potential customers to understand their pain point, journey and desire to solve their problem/challenge. During this presentation and hands-on workshop, Desiree Frieson, an innovation program developer, will help you make sense of your business model and product roadmap through customer discovery techniques.

Topics will include:

  • Customer Discovery Basics & Foundation

  • Creating a Value Proposition and Empathy Map

  • Formulating a Set of Hypotheses

  • Getting of the Building - Learning how to Talk to Customers

  • Creating Customer Discovery Interview Questions
