Event description

Description

Less than a year ago, owners of North Carolina Football Club (NCFC) launched a bold initiative to move local teams into the top levels of professional soccer. The effort included a brand restatement that offered a modern vision for men's and women's soccer in the Triangle and the state, including an aggressive campaign with other local leaders to bring a Major League Soccer franchise -- the highest level of men's professional soccer -- to the state.

Join IABC Triangle on Wednesday Nov. 29 to hear NCFC's Curt Johnson discuss how the club took on the massive challenges of rebranding a franchise, and positioning the Triangle as a destination for world-class men's and women's soccer. Johnson is president and general manager of NCFC and the North Carolina Courage (women's NWSL championship game finalist).

A Raleigh native, Johnson played soccer locally with CASL, Ravenscroft School, and NC State. He is in the Halls of Fame of CASL and Ravenscroft, and in the North Carolina Soccer Hall of Fame. In addition to running the team, Johnson also is responsible for increasing attendance and the fan experience.

Join us at Cantina 18 in Cameron Village to hear "from the trenches" insights on branding and community engagement that have helped promote NC soccer both on and off the field.
