REASONS TO PARTICIPATE:

1. LEARN. A morning session focused on developing two critical competencies for career development—mentoring and leadership—will be led by professionals from academia and industry.

2. COMMUNICATE. Increase the visibility of your research at our poster session or by presenting a seven-minute talk. Applicants selected for the seven-minute talks will have the option to participate in a two-hour workshop prior to the symposium led by the RSG Research Communication Training Program.

3. NETWORK. Meet fellow PhD students and postdocs from other departments and disciplines and learn about their research. In addition, a career exploration and networking reception organized in collaboration with the Northwestern Career Advancement Office will provide you with the opportunity to meet PhDs working at different companies and professional fields. Join us to know more about the realities of working within a particular field, industry or position, find about career paths, and get tips about how to prepare for and enter a given career.
