The CUPA-HR Greater New York Chapter invites you to its fall conference on Thursday, November 8 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at Vernon Downs Casino and Hotel in Vernon, NY. Registration and continental breakfast begins at 8:30 am with programming starting at 9:00 am.

We are thrilled to announce Andy Brantley, President and CEO of CUPA-HR National will be joining us. For those of you who have not had the opportunity to engage with CUPA on the national level, this is a wonderful opportunity for you to hear directly from the leader of the National organization. Andy has been the leader of CUPA-HR since 2005, driving its growth and leadership for over ten years and we are excited to have him share some of the latest data and ideas CUPA-HR, in partnership with Gallup, have compiled on the importance of engagement on our campuses.

We will also be addressing other relevant topics keeping HR practioners up at night. What’s happening in the news is happening on our campus. #Metoo has shined an even brighter light on issues of sexual harassment in the workplace and new New York state requirement surrounding sexual harassment training will impact our campuses.

Join us for a morning session led by Bond, Schoeneck & King where discussion will focus on navigating the complexity of managing sexual harassment issues and concerns. A myriad of issues including policy recommendations related to both sexual harassment and fraternization/consensual relationships; discuss best practices relating to training, including recent developments and requirements in NY, and a discussion about confidentiality agreements will be reviewed.

Lunch will bring the opportunity to network and participate in round table discussions with your peers from other institutions regarding the issues requiring your time and attention.

The afternoon will be dedicated to various lectures and discussions all related to the concept of Campus Inclusivity. Board members from the CUPA-HR Greater NY Chapter will highlight specific efforts currently underway on their campus, featuring everything from toolkits for transgender employees, to implementation and utilization of preferred name policies, to creative utilization of internships and how to more effectively deepen your pools for faculty recruitment. You will hear best practices and specific initiatives from both public and private institutions, as well as have an opportunity to highlight your own institution’s efforts on making your campuses more inclusive.

Whether you are new to either Human Resources, Higher Education or CUPA-HR, or a seasoned and experienced HR veteran, you will be sure to come away with some fresh ideas and creative approaches to implement at your institution.

Cost to attend is $45 (plus $2.86 processing fee) per person.
