Now Recruiting for our Jan/Feb Winter Cohort!!

In partnership with the Brooklyn Public Libary, the CUNY TechWorks program will host their info-session at the Grand Army Plaza Location.

***Course-work will be held at Kingsborough Community College***

Join us at Kingsborough Community College and learn how our new tuition-FREE User Experience training program can help you break into one of the most in-demand fields.


Who should attend

We welcome those with an interest and passion for design and technology! This info session will provide information about:

  • The field of User Experience Design
  • Our program mission
  • Our curriculum break-down and class dates
  • Our admission and application process

What you'll learn

In our 15-week part time EVENING program, you will learn from current industry experts via hands-on projects which will focus on important design thinking process such as:

  • Intro user experience design & wireframing
  • Human center design
  • Visual design
  • HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for Designers
  • Project management
  • Work on a real client project
  • Capstone portfolio development

As students complete the program they will get an array of support services such as career development, soft skills prep, portfolio review and job placement assistance.


Qualifications

  • Be 18 or older
  • Have at least a High School diploma or GED
  • Able to work in the U.S.
  • NYC Resident
  • Comfortable using and learning technology

What is the event room location?

If you register for the event please check your email and look for the order confirmation which will have the room location for the day you register.

How many UX training sessions will you be having?

KBCC/ CUNY Techworks program will be having 3 sessions per year one during Spring, one in the Summer, and one in the Fall until 2020.

What is the days and time for the classes?

The program is an evening program from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday to Friday.

Can I apply online for this program?

No, you need to attend our information session and at the end, you'll receive an application for the program.

How much does the training program cost?

it's a FREE program.

By Subway

2 and 4 Line:

Take the 2 or 4 line to the Grand Army Plaza Station.

4 and 5 line:

Take the 4 and 5 line to the Franklin Ave Station and 4 blocks to the location.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from Kingsborough Community College?

By Subway

F Line:
Take the F Line to the Ave. X Station, then transfer to the eastbound B1 to KCC

N Line (Sea Beach):

Take the N Line to the Bay Parkway / 86th St. Station, then transfer to the eastbound B1 to KCC

Q or B lines:
Take the Q or B Line to the Brighton Beach Station, then transfer to the eastbound B1 to KCC or take the Q or B Line to the Sheepshead Bay Station, then transfer to the B49 to KCC.

D Line (West End):
Take the D Line to the 25th Ave. Station, then transfer to the eastbound B1 to KCC

2, 3, 4 or 5 Lines:
Take the 2, 3, 4 or 5 to the Franklin Ave. Station/Eastern Pkwy, then transfer to the S Line to the Prospect Park Station, then transfer to the Q or B Lines; take the Q or B Line to the Brighton Beach Station, then transfer to the eastbound B1 to KCC

By Bus Direct to the College: Take B1 or B49 to the last stop, Oriental Blvd. and Mackenzie St., then walk east on Oriental Blvd., which leads directly to the entrance of KCC

By car: Parking is available on campus, please show security Eventbrite ticket on your phone or printed if needed.
