Event description

Description

Common barriers to student success in college include lack of mental health services, healthy food options, and reproductive health services. Healthy CUNY is a university-wide initiative that seeks to ensure that all CUNY students are able to reach their full potential both academically and with regard to their mental and physical health. By reducing health-related barriers to educational achievement, Healthy CUNY works with partners inside and outside of CUNY to promote health, enhance existing policies, programs and services, and foster a culture of health within CUNY. For over 10 years, Healthy CUNY has been working with CUNY students, faculty, staff, and administration, as well as community organizations and city agencies, to:

  • Reduce food insecurity and hunger

  • Assist students experiencing problems like depression, anxiety and stress to get appropriate help

  • Facilitate enrollment in health insurance

  • Increase access to reproductive and sexual health services

  • End tobacco use on CUNY campuses

The CUNY Network for College Success invites you to attend an event Wednesday, April 3 at the CUNY School of Public Health, with the goal of sharing resources available to students on and off campus and increasing access to these resources for students. The event will highlight the work of Healthy CUNY and create space for collaboration with community-based organization partners.

**Organizations with mental and physical health services, dental, legal aid, housing, food pantries, and additional services are welcome to bring brochures and materials to share**
