CUNY START, CLIP and ASAP
CUNY START: CUNY Start provides intensive preparation in academic reading/writing, math, and "college success." The program enrolls prospective CUNY students who have been accepted to college because they have a high school or high school equivalency diploma, but are not ready for college-level work based on their scores on the CUNY Assessment Tests.
CLIP (CUNY LANGUAGE IMMERSION PROGRAM): CLIP is an intensive English as a Second Language (ESL) program for CUNY students who need to improve their academic English language skills. Classes meet five hours a day, five days a week, in day or evening sessions. Students who have been accepted to any CUNY college can spend up to one year in the program. CLIP is offered on 9 CUNY campuses in all 5 boroughs.
ASAP (ACCELERATED STUDY IN ASSOCIATE PROGRAMS): ASAP assists students in earning associate degrees within three years by providing a range of financial, academic, and personal supports including comprehensive and personalized advisement, career counseling, tutoring, tuition waivers, MTA MetroCards, and additional financial assistance to defray the cost of textbooks.
