About this Event

Entrada general: $20

La Voz and iD Studio Theatre present:

Cumbia de mi Corazón

After a successful run in the Bronx, Cumbia de mi Corazón arrives to the Hudson Valley, a one-act Spanish language play with English subtitles, written by Toby Campion and directed by Germán Jaramillo. Brought to you by La Voz magazine.

Heriberto, dead these 50 years, finds himself in limbo. He refused to go to heaven until being reunited with his beloved, Maruca. The day of her death, three novice angels attempt to help. Still disoriented by the Alzheimer's that afflicted her in life, Maruca doesn't recognize Heriberto. Now it's up to Heriberto, with the aid of three novice angels, to awaken her into the eternality of their love. His method: the cumbias and porros from the 40s and 50s, the music they danced and delighted to back in Santa Marta on the Atlantic coast of Colombia. Will this strategy work?

General entry: $20

$5 at the gate for high-school and college students with valid ID.
