Event description

Description

Culture Of is an event series for strategists and creatives that explores emerging sub cultures, internet trends and consumer behaviors, co-hosted with thought-leaders.

This month, we are taking a look at sneaker culture. From waiting overnight for sneaker drops to fueling a secondary market that's worth over $1B, sneakers have evolved from a sport shoe to a cultural phenomenon.

Through 4 talks and 1 mini-exhibit, we will dig into the forces at play and give you a look at what sneaker culture is all about. You will hear from real people who are living and thriving in the sneaker world. You will leave more fascinated than ever and get in line at Kith for their next collab yeahhhhh.

4 Talks:

Sneakers in Culture - Nihal Hameed, Sneaker Nerd

Drops, Collabs and Their Effects To The Consumer Mindset- Maria Bobila, editor at Fashionista.com

Brand Stories: Significant Moments in Sneakers - Howie Kahn, co-author of Sneakers

The 1B Sneaker Resale Industry - Josh Luber, Founder of StockX, TED Talk speaker

1 mini-exhibit:

The OGs - Curated with Nihal Hameed and Kenneth Kuo, who personally own hundreds pairs of sneakers, we will showcase and tell you the background stories of a range of sneakers. The forefathers that set the foundation of the sneaker landscape. Those chuck taylors are so much more than meets the eye.
