Description

Over the last 18 months the Liverpool Cultural Education Partnership has reached out across sectors and phases of education. We have engaged professionals working with children and young people in events, planning and partnerships. We've recognised that helping pupils 'transition' through the phases of their education is a significant area of interest - particularly from primary into secondary and then through GCSE options and making decisions beyond this into further education, apprenticeships or jobs.

We now invite you to an event on Tuesday 19 September 2017 at Tate Liverpool to focus on three priorities in relation to helping young people navigate their education:

  • Preparing children and young people for their future of work
  • Mental health
  • A relevant, creative and local curriculum for the city region

Programme:

  • 16.30-17.00 - refreshments and wine on the Fourth Floor
  • 17.00 - a short talk from Sam Cairns from the Cultural Learning Alliance about the current landscape for arts in schools (https://www.culturallearningalliance.org.uk/).
  • We will then hear from teachers and one governor before we split into groups to discuss the priorities in more depth. We will focus on how we can work together to shape our local landscape, ensuring that culture and art is being woven into education as a tool for engagement and learning.
  • 19.00 - event closes.

PLEASE NOTE: You are welcome to arrive from 15.30 onwards for access to the exhibitions. Just quote 'Culture in Action' at the desk and you will receive free tickets to:
