Event description

Description

How much is conscience shaped by our culture, family and religion, and how much is it the
true voice of the spirit within? And to what extent is our culture tainted by our collective
guilty conscience for the harm we’ve done to the environment, our world family and
ourselves?

How can we create a personal and collective culture which is based on the true inner voice of
conscience - that can guide us out of the dark into a creative, fulfilling and abundant future
for all?

Councillor Muhammed Butt has lived in Brent all his life and has represented his home ward
of Tokyngton since 2006. First elected as Leader of the Council in May 2012, Cllr. Butt has
prioritised creating jobs for local people, protecting Brent’s most vulnerable residents and
supporting economic regeneration. Cllr. Butt is passionate about strengthening relations
within Brent’s community, to make this diverse borough more resilient and future ready. Cllr.
Butt is married with three children.

Maureen Goodman has travelled in many countries but describes the greatest journey as the
one that takes us beyond our limited vision of ourselves and others. With a passion for
people, she has worked with people of many cultures and faiths helping to bring a deeper
sense of that which brings us together, rather than divides. Maureen is the Programme
Director for the Brahma Kumaris UK.
