Event description

Description

Birmingham is proud to be one of the most culturally diverse cities in the UK. This is increasingly reflected within its international arts programming. This talk brings together academic Professor Jenny Phillimore, Professor of Migration and Superdiversity, with Piali Ray, Director of leading South Asian Arts organisation Sampad, and artist, educator and curator Mohammed Ali, to discuss the impact of migration and cultural diversity on the rich arts landscape of the city.

Join Culture Central and University of Birmingham for this brand new discussion series designed to bring academic research into conversation with the cultural sector. Hosted in coffee shops and venues across the city centre, the series offers communities an alternate space to exchange ideas. Topics will be intellectually accessible, combining university knowledge, cultural expertise and community experience in a neutral, relaxed environment.
