Event description

Description

Queen's Psychology Dept. faculty members, post-docs, staff members, and graduate students are invited to attend a free "Cultural Safety Training" workshop taught by the Four Directions Indigenous Student Centre. According to the workshop's website, "the intent of these workshops is to remove the power indifference from interactions with Indigenous people and encouraging individuals to self-reflect and work towards building empathetic and collaborative relationships."

The workshop is broken into three parts:

  1. KAIROS Blanket Exercise

  2. Terminology, Legal Definitions, Self-Identity, and Indigenous Paradigm

  3. Relationship Building - Identifying Indicators to Reconciliation

A full description of the "Cultural Safety Training" program can be found here.

Please email Dan Tassone (d.tassone@queensu.ca) with any questions about the program.
