What You'll Learn:

  • How to ask, identify, and explore a client's cultural identity

  • Learn common considerations, issues, and barriers of different populations

  • Enhance the type and format of questions asked about cultural

  • Improve overall cultural humility

Participants will explore how cultural humility plays a role in the mental health assessment process from rapport building to gathering needed information. Focus will be on learning about various populations and important information to gather. Practice using cultural appropriate terms and phrases in questions, as well as participate in activities that build your own cultural identity awareness, implicit bias understanding, and understanding the impact of privilege.

  • Target Audience: Social Workers, Counselors, and Mental Health Professionals, with beginner to intermediate experience
