Description

Please join service providers from across Plumas County for this full day Cultural Competency event as we focus on some of our special populations living in Plumas County.

Guest Speakers will provide education and insight into the history and culture of Native Americans, Veterans, Seniors and more.

A special training will also be delivered by Zach Revene (Plumas County Public Health Department) on CLAS - National Standards for Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services.

The purpose of this event is to educate service providers on the issues that effect special populations within our county and identifying ways to improve service delivery.

Ideal for participants who provide the following services in Plumas County; Health Care, Mental Health, Public Health, Social Services, Domestic Violence, Law Enforcement, Education.

This event is part of the Behavioral Health Community Training program and is funded by MHSA.

Lunch and Refreshments are provided

Outcomes:

  • Explore the history and culture of some special populations in Plumas County

  • Increase understanding of challenges experienced by some special populations

  • Identify practical actions service providers can take to improve services

  • Participate in a CLAS training - (National Standards for Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services)

  • Create an action plan for service improvement
