Description

This training will provide Medical Service Coordinators and Habilitation providers with an understanding of cultural competence as it relates to working with the people they support. Staff who work with individuals with developmental disabilities are encouraged to attend.


Objectives

  • To understand what is cultural competence

  • To understand why cultural competence is important to the provision of services

  • What do we have to do to become culturally competent (i.e. strategies)?

  • How do we put cultural competence into practice?
