Event description

Description

Development of social cognition has become one of the major topics in today’s cognitive psychology and related disciplines. Recent research have revealed that contextual factors – such as the number of siblings, language surrounding the child, and the culture she is growing up in – influence how well children pass various socio-cognitive tests. This context-sensitivity of the development socio-cognitive skills have met with a number of starkly different interpretations as well as with further empirical investigations. The present conference aims to provide an opportunity to discuss how culture, environment and experience matter for the development of our understanding of minds and other social competences.
