1:15 p.m. * October 5th: New Perspectives of Cooperatives in Food Systems
*USDA leadership illustrates the impacts of cooperatives on local food systems across the six-state region.
*Speaker Ken Meter, Crossroads Resource Center, draws upon his pioneering research of rural economies to illustrate the impacts of cooperatives and their contributions to stronger local economies.
*A collaboration of Oregon co-ops and the Pacific Northwest Farmers Cooperative speak to the strengths of the cooperative business model.
*Five cooperatives provide fresh perspectives on their roles as co-ops that finance, produce, market, distribute or sell food.
October 6th: Cultivating Cooperatives in Our Communities
Explore strategic direction for cooperatives in the region. Gain fresh perspectives, add your voice, and continue the directions with a take-home guide. Develop common understanding and alignment in a highly interactive day with brief in-person and recorded video presentations and small group conversations. A Strategic Seminar facilitated by CDS Consulting Co-op.
