Event description

Description

The men of Iota Phi Theta’s Gamma Omicron Omega Alumni Chapter invite you to join us at our Fifth Annual Black-Tie Gala: “Cultivating Paths to Academic Success.”

Our 2019 Gala will continue to highlight the impact of education in addressing the many obstacles that students and communities face daily. Therefore, we are proud to honor and recognize Ms. Diane Bell-McKoy, President and CEO of Associated Black Charities Inc.

Ms. McKoy has been a pioneer in making a difference. She is dedicated to closing the health and wealth gaps for people of color in the state of Maryland. Additionally, through strategic alliances and her “More in the Middle” platform, Ms. McKoy and her team are tirelessly working to expand the assets of the low income, working poor and the fragile middle class.

Our Gala will showcase award recipients and raise funds to continue to bridge the financial gap and burden some of our youth face with furthering their education, in addition to raising funds for initiatives that directly impact our communities. Come and enjoy great food, entertainment, dancing, and open bar, as we celebrate academic excellence and kick-off 2019 with our annual charity event.

Proceeds from the Gala will be used to support the merit and need based academic scholarship efforts and to help continue other community initiatives.

Thank you in advance for your consideration and support and we look forward to seeing you on January 19, 2019.
