Join Sherell Chillik at the Rogers Studio Gallery for the culmination of her residency project, “With One Accord.” Featuring works that explore relationship roles, inspired by biblical narratives using realism and acrylic paints. These timely pieces delve into ideas of faith, submission, lust, failure, agape, tradition, and race.
Biography:
Sherell Chillik was born in 1993 in Detroit, Michigan. She received her BFA, painting at College For Creative Studies, in 2018. Chillik’s work explores portraiture and narrative through oil and acrylic mediums. She has shown work and participated in the AICAD Residency in Dumbo, Brooklyn, New York, and volunteered to create murals around the Brightmoor community of Detroit from 2012 to 2015. Chillik currently teaches private and public art classes in Flint, MI, and has participated in local art events and fairs to engage with her community. Her most recent shows include "The 59th Annual Thumb Area Artists Exhibition" in Romeo, MI, "State of the Arts" in Prairie Village KS, "Women's Show" at Norwest Gallery in Detroit, MI, and the "Art Beat Miami" Annual Exhibition.
