CUESA's 8th Annual Goat Festival
CUESA’s Goat Festival
Join CUESA for the Eighth Annual Goat Festival, a celebration of all things goat! Explore the wonders of goats, meet local ranchers and food crafters, sample artisan cheeses, and unleash your inner “kid” at the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market.
10 am - 1 pm: Pet the Goats from Toluma Farms (SOLD OUT)
Bring the kids to play with adorable baby goats from Toluma Farms and Tomales Farmstead Creamery in the Goat Festival petting stable (south driveway, near the Sur La Table store). To minimize crowds and avoid stress to the goats, access to the goat petting tent will require advance ticketing.
Petting time slots include a 5-minute period to line up before the petting, 8-minutes in the pen with the goats, and a 2-minute buffer period to transition between groups. Please show up on time with your printed ticket and time slot. Due to high demand, we cannot offer you a different time slot if you miss your allotted time frame.
10:30 am: Market to Table Demo
Join us for a goat-cheese-themed cooking demo with Mark Dommen, One Market Restaurant at the CUESA Classroom (under the white tents in front of the Ferry Building, behind the info booth). Free.
11 am: Goat Cheese Tasting Plates
Taste local goat milk cheeses paired with preserves from the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market with a grab-and-go sampler plate available at the CUESA Info Booth (black tent in front of the Ferry Building). Plates will be available for sale ($5) on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last.
12 pm: Animal Welfare Talk
Join us at the CUESA Classroom (under the white tents in front of the Ferry Building, behind the Info Booth) for a discussion with local experts and ranchers about humane animal care and animal welfare certifications. Free.
8 am - 2 pm: “Browse the Farmers Market” Scavenger Hunt
During our regular market hours, you can make like a goat and “browse” the delicious offerings from our local ranchers, artisans, and chefs! Stop by the CUESA Info Booth (black tent in front of the Ferry Building) to pick up a map of goat-inspired offerings. Visit the CUESA website for updates.
