CUESA North Bay Cheese & Wine Tour
Daytrip across the Golden Gate Bridge to visit two award-winning artisan cheesemakers and a sustainable winery in the fertile farmland of Marin and Sonoma counties. Our first stop will be Nicasio Valley Cheese Company, where we’ll tour the creamery and learn how the Lafranchi family crafts their organic farmstead cow’s milk cheeses, then taste the results. Next, we’ll visit Toluma Farms and Tomales Farmstead Creamery to meet the people, sheep, and goats who produce their signature fresh and aged cheeses. To wind down the day, we’ll head to the recently restored estate of Scribe Winery in Sonoma. We’ll learn about the vineyard’s history and management practices, which aim to protect wild ecosystems and biodiversity, and taste some of Scribe’s terroir-driven wines.
Tickets include round-trip transportation from the Ferry Building in a comfortable bus, cheese and wine tastings, and lunch at Toluma Farms. This tour is co-sponsored by CUESA and the California Artisan Cheese Guild.
