Event description

Description

Join CUE San Francisco and the San Francisco Unified School District Computer Science Department as we prepare for Computer Science Education Week 2017!

Computer Science Education Week (CSEdWeek) is an annual program dedicated to inspiring K-12 students to take interest in computer science. It is held in recognition of the birthday of computing pioneer Admiral Grace Murray Hopper (December 9, 1906). However, you may know CSEdWeek as the "Hour of Code," which has gained tremendous popularity since its inception in 2013.

Join us on November 30th to learn more about how you can celebrate CSEdWeek with your own Hour of Code in your classroom or at your school site! We will introduce you to a wide range of "plugged" and "unplugged" computer science activities for K-12 students that can be implemented by anyone - from tech novices to CS experts!

Our host Splunk will graciously be providing attendees with complimentary appetizers and beverages (including wine), as well as a free t-shirt and lots of other swag to take back to your classrooms! Plus, we'll be raffling off some incredible prizes, such as robots and #CSinSF gear!

You won't want to miss this incredible event - sign up today as space is limited!

This event is open to all educators and administrators, and CUE membership is not required to attend. However, if you're not yet a CUE member, go to cue.org/join and become a member for FREE (a $40 value!) as part of the celebration of CUE Inc.'s 40th Anniversary! This offer won't last long, so sign up today!
