We are thrilled to gather together again for our modern spin on tashlich. Mark the start of your new year with Reboot and the JCCSF

About this event

Reset your system with our modern spin on a 600-year-old Rosh Hashanah ritual called tashlich. This custom of ridding ourselves of all our bad vuggum (karma) from the previous year and getting a fresh start for the new one is traditionally enacted by tossing crumbs into the ocean. Join us on Monday, Sept. 26 at 5:00 p.m. PT by the shore at Ocean Beach for a brief, engaging ritual. Bring a shofar, if you have one, to blow along with some of San Francisco’s finest players from the Jazz Mafia, the Irish Pipers Band and the Church of John Coltrane. This year we will provide birdseed instead of bread to be better stewards of our wildlife and environment.

Tashlique is presented by Reboot with the Jewish Community Center of San Francisco with community partner Hebrew Free Loan, Honeymoon Israel, One Table, Jewish Community Federation of San Francisco, JIMENA and Value Culture.

The event is free but please RSVP and sign the waiver.

Participants are required to sign in and accept this liability waiver.
