CSW Panel - Gender Representation in Advertising: Socializing Sexism and Breaking Stereotypes

Monday the 9th of March kicks off the beginning of the 59th Session of the UN's Commission on the Status of Women (CSW). Representatives from Member States, UN entities and NGOs from all regions of the world will attend the session at United Nations Headquarters in New York City.
The Metro NY Chapter of the US National Committee for UN Women and the US National Committee for UN Women will host an expert panel as an official parallel event to CSW.
The panel, comprised of experts in media and gender issues, advertisers and marketers, will engage in a lively and insightful discussion on what advertisers can do, and are doing, to more positively shape the perceptions of women and girls to advance gender equality.

The UN Women United States National Committee (UN Women-USNC) is an independent non-governmental organization that supports the mission of UN Womenthrough programs, advocacy, public education about UN Women and global women’s issues, and fund-raising efforts to support UN Women programs worldwide.
