Description
The National Center on Deafness (NCOD) at the California State University, Northridge (CSUN) proudly hosts the 5th Annual CSUN NCOD Sign n’ Run 5K ASL Festival. This event brings together a diverse community – Deaf, hard of hearing, hearing students, signers and non-signers, faculty, staff, alumni, interpreters, community, neighbors, and everyone else – to celebrate American Sign Language, Culture and Community. Included: 5K Timed Run/Walk or Stroll, exhibit booths, free official event t-shirt, and an entertainment program featuring Deaf performers. For the 5K route map on CSUN campus, check www.csun.edu/ncod.
The admission fee includes a free official event shirt, snack, water, and entertainment. Register in advance to improve your chance to get a free t-shirt in your size.
The annual Sign n’ Run event provides opportunities for hands-on student leadership development and volunteerism. It is mostly run by students. Also importantly, the event raises much needed funds for student scholarships and programs.
On Sunday April 15, come at 8 AM to register, sign an insurance waiver, and get started! For more information, email csunsignnrun@gmail.com or ncod@csun.edu. Also check the NCOD website at www.csun.edu/ncod for campus maps and periodical updates.
