"CSI #2: Mystery at 323 Maple St"

Do you like CSI? Are you interested in learning how figure out "who done it?" If so Forensic Science Imagineering summer program is for you. In this fun, exciting, hands on, four day, 12 hour lab class you will learn and practice all of the basics of forensic science, such as how to document a crime scene and collect evidence, analyze blood spatter, and impressions, fingerprint collection and analysis, hair and fiber analysis to name a few. You will use your new skills to solve crimes and determine what happened.

All NEW crime to solve. Culmination activity - Mystery at 323 Maple Street, a real world case based scenario. A crime has been committed at 323 Maple Street, and your class is the team of investigators assigned to find out where the crime took place, if the criminal acted alone, and even the type of clothing worn by each suspect. They’ll hone their observational, comparative, and laboratory skills by analyzing six separate bodies of evidence including blood, animal and human hair, fingerprints, fibers, and mystery powder. In the process, they should discover the guilty party. Time permitted the case will be taken to court and you will portray one of the following: expert witnesses, attorney, judge or jury. You will present your case and the jury will decide who the guilty person is.

This class is developed and taught by Tracy Gilcrist, Forensic Science Teacher at Monte Vista High School.



Please be mindful when registering for this program. No refunds will be granted unless the spot can be filled by another child on the waitlist. Refunds within one week of the start of the course will incur a $25 processing fee.

Waitlist will be handled in order until 24 hours before the event. At that time if a spot becomes available, the entire waiting list will be notified at the same time and the first to respond will be offered the spot.
