Crystal Silmi returns to Santa Cruz in 2016 for a 2 Day Dance Intensive
Join us for in Santa Cruz, the beautiful city by the sea and get your dance on!
In these 2 days we will focus intensively on layering technique, finger cymbal combos, fusion choreography and more!
Hope you will join us for this very special dance weekend for my only trip home this year!

Saturday, July 9th & Sunday, July 10th
12:00-4:30 (with 30 minute break)

Saturday, July 9th (DAY 1)

Warm up focused on strength training and deepening flexibility and bodily awareness
technique training: muscular awareness and attention to timing with layering belly dance movement

(30 minute break)

Tabla Fusion Choreography

This is an upbeat and spicey choreography with music that combines eastern and western rhythms. Dancers will focus on group cohesion and precision of movement and musicality. The dance will be modern while staying rooted in belly dance technique.

Sunday, July 10th (DAY 2)

Warm up focused on strength training and deepening flexibility and bodily awareness
finger cymbals and belly dance: review of a variety of finger cymbal pattern and applying those rhythms to both modern and folkloric dance movement.

(30 minute break)

Finger Cymbal Choreography - all levels!
This is an elegant and accessible tribal fusion choreography that will give dancers the opprtunity to combine the patterns and movements learned in the morning into a dance that can be taken onto the stage!
