From Madrid to Motion Pacific - Crystal is returning to California to DANCE!
Join us for a 2 Day Belly Dance Fusion Intensive in the beautiful city by the sea, Santa Cruz!
In these 2 days we will focus intensively on layering technique, exercises for projecting sentiment in performance, finger cymbal combos, fusion choreography and more!
Hope you will join us for this very special dance weekend for my only trip home this year!

Saturday, September 12th & Sunday, September 13th
12:00-4:30 (with 30 minute break)

Saturday, September 12th (DAY 1)

warm up focused on strength training and deepening flexibility and bodily awareness
technique training: muscular awareness and attention to timing with layering belly dance movement
(30 minute break)
Slave to Self choreography
Slow it down! A moody and introspective fusion choreography that expresses the suffering of being a prisoner to ones own mind.
Dancers will strive to dance and breathe together as a single unit, providing a special experience of group expression through movement.
If time permits we will do some "opening up" exercises for projecting sentiment in performance.

Sunday, September 13th (DAY 2)

warm up focused on strength training and deepening flexibility and bodily awareness
finger cymbals and belly dance: review of a variety of finger cymbal pattern and applying those rhythms to both modern and folkloric dance movement.
We will construct a short and upbeat combo to weave together the cymbal patterns and fuse modern and traditional belly dance.
(30 minute break)
Hip Hip Chin Chin choreography
This is a spicy and upbeat modern fusion choreography that combines belly dance technique with pizzazz! Bringing together elements of various dance forms, dancers will learn a full-length choreography that can be taken to the stage or to the streets! (Dance heels optional)
