Crucial Conversations Training

Crucial Conversations® training provides high-leverage skills for individuals, teams, and organizations that under-communicate, withhold information, or fail to act with unity and conviction.

Anytime you find yourself stuck, there’s a crucial conversation you’re either not holding or not holding well. This course introduces a model for talking when the stakes are high, emotions run strong and opinions vary. The model shares steps for before, during and after the dialog to produce actions and results.

Throughout the training, participants will have the opportunity to apply Crucial Conversations® principles and skills to real life challenges.

Key Learning Points:

  • How to stay focused on what you really want
  • How to make it safe to talk about almost anything
  • How to stay in dialog when you’re angry, scared or hurt
  • How to listen when others blow up or clam up


Note on Fee: Your final fee per person should be less than $590.  When we get all the expenses we'll calculate the final fee and bill you for it.

Note on Date/Time:This seminar with span 2 dates, October 26 and October 27 from 8 AM to 2 PM.both days.  Eventbrite apparently does not allow 2 dates for one event.  Please note that by registering here, you will be registering for both dates!




Performance review time has always been a challenge for me. Since the CC training I have conducted reviews on four of the five people on my team. The conversations I thought were much more productive and were actually enjoyable to discuss the positive and yes even a couple of negatives. (i.e. tardiness and telephone conversations). The CC training has made me stop and engage my brain before beginning a conversation at home with my wife and kids. I have actually gotten better at not getting furious telling myself a story about the situation before I get the facts. This was the best training I have attended since coming to ACR. Thanks.


In CC training I learned skills which I could put to use at once. In a professional context, I have been able to address late payment issues with customers. In a slow economy this conversation can be painful for all parties involved. With the course training I have been able to have these necessary conversations with favorable outcomes. In a personal context I have learned effective ways to have more beneficial talks with my spouse. I’m beginning to feel as though we are working the problems of modern life, not each other. We can identify the “800 lb gorilla” in the room and talk about it. I have not mastered all the CC skills yet, but they have made me more self aware of encoded and learned behaviors which can stall a positive experience. I know how to start and engage others in a constructive discussion about a potentially volatile or touchy subject.  I am much more aware of the value of open discussion no matter how awkward it makes me feel at the moment. I would recommend this training to anyone who wants to enhance and grow their communication skill set.


I have used what I learned from this course several times at home and at work. I continually ask myself what “do” I really want. What do they want and what I need to do to get the results we both want. I have been working very hard to change my body language when I am having crucial conversations or conversations that could turn crucial just because of my body language. It really seems to be working. This training has helped me with my confidence when I know I have got to have a crucial conversation. It has helped me realize that I was a better communicator at work but I was failing tremendously at home with my wife. This training has opened my eyes and most important my heart.


Troy, as you know I have a situation with my son Jon who has made some bad choices in the past. By me taking this course I have learned to listen, not gone on the defensive, have learned not to draw conclusions based on what I am thinking. I have learned a better way to communicate not only with him with other family members. Diane and I have started to communicate better. There are now conversations not confrontations in our household. Things are getting better. There is still work to do but I see a light at the end of the tunnel. Rich


My wife and I were having a rough time with our Daughter over her wedding plans before and during my Crucial conversation course. The first thing that hit me while I was attending is if this class could help us with this problem. After completing the class and sharing some information with my wife we met our Daughter and her future husband and were able to not only work out our differences but also were able to continue with the same type of communication all through the wedding so that we all now have great memories of the event. I only wish I had had this training twenty years ago. It is amazing how a few days of crucial Conversation training can change your life if you take it to heart.
