Event description

Description

The Culturally Relevant Pedagogy (CRP) Collaborative was established by three non-profit organizations - Next Generation Men & Women, Profound Gentlemen, and The Showcase Group - as a result of winning a $25,000 pitch competition organized by the Annie E. Casey Foundation.

We are dedicated to growing the capacity of Boys and Men of Color (BMOC) through mentorship, mental health, and teacher development. Together, our three agencies serve and engage over 300 students and 193 teachers and facilitators across Fulton, Dekalb, Cobb, Gwinnett, Rockdale, and Clayton counties.

On September 30, 2017, we invite you to join over 100 stakeholders including educators, parents, youth, and mental health experts to work together to create content for BMOC programs that is culturally relevant to the experiences of BMOC in our communities. In addition to creating content together, this event also signifies what we hope to be a growing ecosystem of service providers who directly support BMOC.

This is an invite-only event. If you know of an individual who would be a great addition to our event, please email Ian Cohen at ian@nextgenatl.org to see if seats are available.

The event will feature a continental breakfast and lunch.

Dress is business casual. Plenty of parking is available.

We believe that through collaborative efforts, and the development of a ‘BMOC ecosystem’, we will inevitably lead our youth, communities, and service providers to improved effectiveness, efficiency, influence and constructive development. We hope to see you there!
