Crowdfund Barking and Dagenham Launch Event
Wed, April 5, 2017, 10:30 AM – 1:00 PM BST
We are very pleased to announce the launch of our crowdfunding campaign and the beginning of our partnership with Crowdfunder, who, since 2012, have helped businesses, social enterprises, charities, and community and voluntary sector groups to raise £34 million through donations and rewards-based crowdfunding.
Please come to our launch event on 5th April (10:30am-1pm) at the Barking Learning Centre. Jonathan Bone from Nesta will be coming to speak about their research paper ‘Crowdfunding Good Causes’, and the Co-founder of Crowdfunder will be there to explain how crowdfunding works and how to crowdfund successfully.
To support local crowdfunding projects the Council has reintroduced a small grants programme so that we can matchfund projects that align with our strategic objectives. During 2017/18 we have a funding pot of £120,000 to distribute to local crowdfunding projects that meet our criteria. Projects can receive up to 50% of the money needed to deliver the project, or up to a maximum of £10,000. To access the fund you will need to upload your project, start crowdfunding, and make an online application through our Crowdfunder partner page.
The fund will be available from early April. Until then visit www.crowdfunder.co.uk/funds/crowdfund-barking-dagenham to register your interest and find out more about our fund.
