Event description
Join us for a mid-summer field trip to Crosswinds Marsh to check out Barn Swallows and more!

About this event

Crosswinds Marsh boasts over 230 species of waterfowl, upland birds and raptors, including resident nesting Bald Eagles.  This time of year is the perfect time to see the beautiful and acrobatic flights of Barn Swallows as they feed their nestlings.

Crosswinds Marsh is a wonderful picnic location, as well, so consider packing a lunch and making a day of it!

Terrain: Easy walking on board walk or level trail. Moderately very slight uphill-- maybe a foot or two climb on one of the woodland trails.  (The boardwalk is wheel chair accessible).

To become a member of Detroit Audubon for $30 and pay the discounted price, add a $30 donation when checking or click here.

A waiver for Covid 19 is included in the registration process and the following protocols will be in place in order to have a safe walk for all involved:

1. Must register in advance

2. Masks are only requested for those who are unvaccinated

3. We ask that if you have been exposed to anyone with Covid 19 or are feeling unwell to please stay home

4. Binoculars will be available to use, but please request them during registration

***After registering, you will receive Detroit Audubon's bi-monthly e-newsletter, Flyway Express. You may unsubscribe at any time. ***
