An Insider's Perspective of the HealthSouth Fraud
On Wednesday, November 7, Weston Smith, former CFO of HealthSouth, will visit UMSL to share the story of the company's billion dollar fraud and his own role as whistleblower in its eventual downfall.
This special event is presented by the UMSL Accounting Department, the Accounting Advisory Board and Beta Alpha Psi. It is a great opportunity to reconnect with the University and other accounting alumni, students and faculty, improve your understanding of business fraud and ethics, and gain two hours of ethics CPE credit.
The event will take place in the Century Rooms of the Millennium Student Center on the UMSL campus. It will begin with a continental breakfast at 7:30 a.m., followed by Mr. Smith’s address.
