Event description
A forum for CABLE academics at the University of Auckland to develop research collaborations

About this Event

This forum is the first of four being planned by the Associate Deans (Research) of the CABLE faculties (Creative Arts and Industries, Arts, Business & Economics, Law, Education and Social Work). The fora aim to provide opportunities for sharing ideas and exploring opportunities for collaborative research

This first forum starts with a focus on the value and process of collaboration. COVID 19 has presented a strong call to ‘re-imagine Aotearoa New Zealand’ through institutional, political and public engagement strategies that respond to new internal and external research funding mandates. While STEM disciplines have a significant influence in such discussions and are advanced in their engagement with these debates, the work of CABLE disciplines remains less visible. The Crossing CABLEs aims to encourage us to think about how we can make a contribution and will focus on:

• What are the strengths and challenges of research collaboration?

• What strategic areas lend themselves to collaborative research around the ‘re-imagining Aotearoa New Zealand’ debates?

• How do we embed Mātauranga Māori and Pacific methodologies into our collaborations?

• How can CABLE researchers initiate and lead cross-faculty research collaborations?
