Event description
A dance project exploring how music, dance, and movement facilitate communication and inspire cross-cultural acceptance and understanding.

About this Event

Second of three presentations. The other two are:

- at AIRIE' Saturdays in the park Saturday April 18 , 1:00 pm

- at PAXy's Wake up Miami! Monday April 27, 8:30 am

Japanese dancer and choreographer with deep roots on Butoh dance Yukio Suzuki and Slovakian-born, Miami-based composer, sound /multimedia artist, performer, researcher and educator Juraj Kojs, collaborate to create, produce and present this multi-layered piece of performance art.

This project marks the first collaboration between PAXy and Artists in Residence in Everglades, two local non-profits, and Yukio Suzuki Projects, an international organization. In addition, we are proud to announce our first International Cultural Partnerships Grant from the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and a grant for the Performing Arts Japan from The Japan Foundation. Cross-pollination also receives support from the Miami Light Project, filmmakers Alejandro Demetrius and David Narbecki, photographer Mateo Serna Zapata, Graphic Designer Sebastian Longhitano and architect Fabio Segre.

This collaboration draws inspiration from the serenity of the Everglades and will take place during Yukio’s residency at AIRIE. Ending its journey at the stressed Monday morning’s public transportation in the city as part of the Wake up Miami!
