Description

Hike Rating: Moderate; 1.75 miles

GUIDE: Eric Hanson (hansons1@juno.com)

This little used loop hike is only 1.75 miles long but has some moderately steep sections and cliff top exposure. Trekking poles are recommended. Most of this hike is located on property acquired by The Trust for Public Lands. Along with checking out plants and wildlife we encounter, group will chat about humans' prehistoric and historic uses of the area. We will be stopping near the walk's midpoint to get a binocular view of something truly special. I’m not going to tell you what "it" is now, but I will give you a hint. "It" is the largest in Oregon. To find out what "It" is, join us on this hike. We will be meeting in the parking lot across from Crooked River Ranch Chapel at 8:00 a.m.

Participants should wear sturdy, closed-toed hiking shoes. Bring at least one quart of water, lunch or high energy snacks, and trekking poles if used.

Group size is limited to 8 people, and dogs are not allowed on this hike. If you sign up and later need to cancel, please do so as soon as possible so that people on the wait list can be invited to join this hike. Thank you!
