CRM- Crafting a Constituent Relations Technology Strategy
with an introduction to CiviCRM
Presented by Frank J. Gómez
Ginkgo Street Labs, Washington DC
New technologies are giving us more ways than ever to connect and engage our constituents. Close the loop between your online presence, real world interactions and slay the technology hydra. Social Media, Email communications, SMS/Text Messages, Online Events, Real world Actions, Phone Banks, Door Knocking all generate data and opportunities to break or strengthen engagement. After a brief presentation, breakout groups will complete an exercise to map out an organizations engagement opportunities and identify obstacles and opportunities in the way they collect and use data to target, engage, mobilize, and empower their volunteers, members and constituents.
There will also be an Introduction to CiviCRM including how CiviCRM came about and how the tool can be utilized in many arenas. Attendees will be able to see the main dashboard, and the various extensions including: membership, volunteer, events, case studies, donation management, and campaign management.
Participants will gain experience drafting a strategy to use diverse technologies and platforms and identify engagement opportunities and pitfalls: using their own organizational needs, or lending a hand to a fellow participant. Participants will also get the opportunity to see CiviCRM and its value to nonprofits.
