The Annual Conference for Teachers in Civics, Law, and Government an opportunity for high school teachers to get resources for thier classes, meet professionals in the fields of civics, law and education and network with other peers from across the Chicagoland area.
The Conference features a morning of content-intensive breakout sessions, a lunch banquet ideal for networking, and a keynote.
2016 Teachers of the Year
The 2016 Barbara J. O’Donnell and Edward J. Lewis Awards for Illinois Law-Related Education Teachers of the Year will be announced at the conference.
The O’Donnell Award for high school teachers is named for the late Barbara J. O’Donnell, a superb teacher and former director of the Center for Law Justice at Chicago’s Lincoln Park High School.
The Lewis Award is given to an elementary teacher in memory of Edward J. Lewis II, an outstanding teacher and partner at the law firm of Jenner & Block LLP who chaired CRFC’s Lawyer Advisory Committee.
The winners are selected by a CRFC Board committee, and receive a plaque and financial award to support their classroom LRE activities.
