The walk starts at the Bethesda Metro Center (Red Line). From there, we will make our way down the Crescent Trail, through the historic Georgetown University campus and Georgetown where there are plenty of opportunities to grab a snack or meal.

From Georgetown, we will head along Embassy Row and up through Rock Creek to the National Zoo.

After touring the zoo (lots of opportunity for food and bathrooms), walkers can decide to return to Bethesda via the Metro Red Line (Woodley Park/Zoo Station), or walk an additional 4 miles back to Bethesda

Time: 8:15 am (assemble by the Bus area) to leave at 8:30

Distance: 14 Miles, or 18, depending if you decide to walk from the Zoo back to Bethesda, or take the Metro Subway back.

Transportation: Start: Red Line Bethesda Metro Center. Free street parking is available in downtown Bethesda on Sundays and there are several county lots near by. Return back from the Zoo option is to catch the Red Line from Woodley Park/Zoo station back to the Bethesda Metro Center.

Hiking tips:
