Event description

Description

In this workshop, you will learn the basics of European crepe paper along with the skills and techniques to create realistic paper flowers. We will be handcrafting a handful of pastel anemones, the perfect precursor to spring. You will also learn how simple elements like acrylic paint and pastels can be used to create beautiful color nuance in your flowers. By the end of class, you will use your new talents to make three pastel anemones with paper, wire, paint and pastels.

All workshop supplies will be provided, including crepe paper, floral wire, scissors, and tacky glue. You will leave with your completed anemones, a detailed guide with full instructions, templates, paintbrush, paint and pastel chalk to create three more anemones at home.

About Emily Paluska:

Emily Paluska is the botanical artist behind Revery Paper Flora. She currently calls the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington, DC home. Emily has always been head over heels with all things botanical but the combination of not being able to keep plants alive and the short life cycle of some of her favorite flowers, made her look elsewhere. She discovered paper flowers in 2017 and hasn't looked back since. When she's not creating flowers for homes and shops around the country or teaching workshops around the District (+ Austin, TX), she is finding the balance between small business ownership and wrangling a baby and toddler.
