Event description

Description

Join KQED in kicking off the 2018 Bay Area Science Festival with a special screening featuring its award-winning science series, Deep Look.

Meet the producers and hear harrowing tales of how they captured the fascinating imagery for some of Deep Look's creepier creature videos including black widows, flesh-eating beetles, owls, ticks and whispering bats.

Plus, you'll meet some of the researchers that made these videos possible (see below) and you'll enjoy seeing live specimens that might test your fear factor!

  • Terri Barclay, beetles expert at the UC Museum of Vertebrate Zoology
  • Kerry Padget, tick expert at the California Department of Public Health
  • Corky Quirk, bat educator at NorCal Bats

RSVP is required for this free event. 21 and over. Drinks and snacks will be available for purchase.

Please have your eventbrite ticket with you. The first 130 people will be guaranteed entry on a first come first served basis.

*Note: If you are one of our Patrons on Patreon, we'll have a meet-and-greet with Deep Look's producers especially for you at 6:30pm. Please message us on Patreon to let us know you will be there!
