Event description

Description

What: Like creeks and want to help with a citizen science project that monitors creeks to identify problems for fish and other living things? Join Grassroots Ecology for a training to become a monthly creek monitor! Learn how to monitor basic parameters such as dissolved oxygen and learn how these parameters indicate watershed health.

Who: Seeking future volunteers interested in doing monthly monitoring on Matadero, Barron, and Adobe Creeks and generally available to volunteer with us on the 3rd Thursday or Friday morning of every month.

IMPORTANT: Monitoring generally takes place the third Thursday and/or Friday morning of each month; ideally, training participants would also be available one of those days each month.

Not regularly available Thursday and Friday mornings? Don't fret! We also hold a monthly monitoring event on San Francisquito Creek, generally on the third Saturday of each month that is open to the public, no training required.

Where: Peninsula Conservation Center, 3921 East Bayshore Road, Palo Alto, Raptor Room.
