Description

The Creatively Yours workshop is a 12 week course with sessions held Saturday's in Willingboro, NJ. Participants enrolled in the entire session should not miss more than 3 sessions. Make-up sessions will be available at the end of the workshop for any missed sessions.


Upon successful completion of the 12 week course, participants will have first opportunity to audition for roles under production. Roles include, cast, crew, writing, set design, costume design, administration, marketing, project management, etc.


Members of QCE receive discounted tuition. Must be 18+ to enroll.

Class One Orientation

Class Two – Theatre Terminology -This class explores the different stage terms used in producing and presenting a stage production. These terms will prove helpful for technical staff, directors, actors, writers, producers or anyone who wants to better understand the workings of the theatre.

Class Three -Understanding the Stage (Blocking) this class explores the overall positioning and movement of the actors on the stage. In this class participants will learn stage direction, movement and physical behavior, stage orientation and emphasis as well as strong winning attitudes vs weak struggling attitudes as they relate to what is done on stage.

Class Four - Stage Presence During this class participants will learn the importance of developing their stage persona, character attitude and overall stage presence as it relates to effectively engaging the audience.

Class Five- Concentration and Relaxation The concentration and relaxation portion of this class focuses on the utilization of certain techniques to achieve total and effective control over the muscles of the body and the respiratory system. These techniques will allow the participants to be and remain in the moment as this is important for the success of the production

Class Six - Voice & Diction - Using tongue twisters and exercises this class helps the participants learn how to strengthen their voices so that they can effectively project sound, and articulate correctly and clearly so that the wording of the play is understood by the audience

Class Seven - Script Familiarization During the script familiarization portion of this class participants will learn how to explore, get familiar and become comfortable with their script.

Class Eight -Building your Character
The focus of the building your character portion of this class is to help the participant learn how to effectively construct their character, find that characters truth and then tell a story through their character using that truth.

Class Nine -Sense and Memory - During this class participants will explore their subconscious to bring tap into their own individual sensory memories using the five senses.

Class Ten - Preparing for the Audition
This class gives the participant an up close and personal view of what it takes to ace an audition.

Class Eleven - Commitment, Dedication &The Team During this session, participants will explore the dynamics of the relationship between cast, crew, assistant director and the director and producer. This class also explores the difference between commitment and dedication as it relates to becoming a successful actor.
