Event description

Description

There is growing evidence that creative writing is good for your wellbeing. This is certainly what I found in my mindfulness-in-coaching research where I introduced a reflexive writing process ‘Playing with Nine Words.’ The majority of coaches did not believe they could write poetry, yet they did! This simple yet powerful process helped practitioners capture their experience of mindfulness training, personally and professionally and the process itself has been published in a number of journals and Paul Masson's text, 'Coach Yourself First.'

This year, Inspired by the impact this process had on experienced practitioners and witnessing at first hand the power of creativity in improving wellbeing I wanted to bring to the Yorkshire region three specialists who have inspired my own work in this developing field of coaching and therapeutic practice. To this end EI (Emotional Intelligence) Coaching and Consulting is hosting three experiential events in York, in July, September and November, these are

  1. Creative Writing as a tool for Wellbeing (Helen Stockton)
  2. Stories and Storytelling for Facilitating Transformation (George Bassett)
  3. The Art and Craft of Reflexive and Therapeutic Writing (Jackee Holder)
