Event description

Description

How do you write compellingly about the real world? In this workshop, we will explore the modes and techniques of creative nonfiction, including memoir, portrait, and feature writing. From old classics to recent pieces, we will read examples of the genre and discuss what makes them vivid and intriguing. In our writing exercises, we will experiment with applying the devices of fiction to nonfiction prose, with the goal of helping you cultivate your voice as a storyteller. You'll leave the workshop with a guide to more creative nonfiction reading and the tools to write truth with style. Led by Badgerdog teaching artist Emily Gogoloak. This workshop is free and open to adults, age 18 and up.
