Date Friday, May 31, 2013 | 8:30 am - 10:00 am
Join us this Friday for a special Baton Rouge blues experience. And tell a friend or bring a friend. Creative Louisiana is best shared!
Surrounded by this month's Glassell Gallery exhibit, "Raining in My Heart: Baton Rouge Blues Project," we'll listen to Maxine Crump, one of the founding members of the Baton Rouge Blues Foundation. Maxine will share the story of blues in Baton Rouge and the value of embracing our blues heritage as a community.
Famed blues artist Henry Gray will get us started at 8:30 am with a special guest performance.
The event gets started at 8:30 for coffee and mingling, and the lecture portion of the event starts at 9:00am. Everyone is off to work by 10:00 am and it's free!
Creative Louisiana is a monthly morning meetup for creative types. Join us!
Speaker: Maxine Crump
Maxine will tell the story of how Baton Rouge birthed the blues, and the story of the artists and audiences who made the blues a soulful part of our history. Baton Rouge's blues heritage is rich, and this month we'll be celebrating it in style.
Join us at The Glassell Gallery, 100 Lafayette Street, (located in the Shaw Center for the Arts), Baton Rouge.
This month, the Glassell Gallery is featuring the blues photography exhibit, "Raining in My Heart: Baton Rouge Blues Project."
