Creative Intentions Retreat: Awakening

Join us for a One Day Retreat at Acony Bell in Mills River, NC!

Spend a cozy day at the Acony Bell Tiny House Village nestled on 54 acres of creek-side farmland for an art retreat. Warm yourself by the stone fireplace while experiencing a gentle dive into discovering what lies within you, waiting to awaken. Shake off the winter with a warm lunch and good creative company as we encourage the seeds of our future intentions to rise into the new year.

Awakening

During this time of year we find nature lying dormant awaiting the sun's warmth to set the growth of seeds in motion. An age old tradition of observing whether a slumbering mammal sees their shadow or not, defines how we approach the coming spring; tuck back in for more weeks of rest or begin the ascent to awakening and growth.

We will use the theme of 'awakening' seeds from winter's sleep to explore projects, ideas, and future endeavors in our personal lives and translate them into creative symbols. What seed is lying beneath your surface awaiting the things it needs to flourish?

We'll explore these concepts within our personal lives during this full day workshop of drawing and clay projects.

M Rathsack, art teacher from M's School of Art, and the Dancing Potter, will lead you through an exploratory sketchbook activity to create meaningful symbols for your journey, as well as teach you to create a hand-built seed inspired clay vessel.

***Art experience is not necessary! Instruction for all abilities will be available.***

Just as January represents the early dawn of a new year, this workshop will be the perfect time to make clear your intentions for the year ahead and connect to what you need to nourish the seeds that lie beneath your surface.
