Event description

Description

The path to awakening is not through logic, but through a wordless recognition of profound truth. During this session Ajahn Jotipālo will speak about how creating religious artwork has helped him come into a deeper awareness of innate wisdom.

All levels of practitioners are welcome.

ABOUT THE TEACHER:

Ajahn Jotipālo initially became interested in Buddhism after attending a series of Goenka retreats. He then became a staff member at Insight Meditation Center in Barre, MA, and had his first experience of monastery life at Arrow River Forest Hermitage. In 1998 he moved to Abhayagiri Buddhist Monastery in California where he was ordained as a monk. Since then he has lived at numerous monasteries in such places as Thailand, Canada, and New Zealand. Nowadays he is a resident scholar at St. John's University, where he is studying and practicing the creation of religious iconography.
